Description
The NRS-2002 includes an initial screening that assesses Body Mass Index (BMI), recent weight loss, recent dietary intake, and the severity of the disease. If risk factors are identified during the initial screening, a more detailed assessment is conducted. This main assessment assigns scores for impaired nutritional status (0-3 points) and illness severity (0-3 points), with an additional point added if the patient’s age is 70 or above. Scores range from 0 to 7, with a score of 3 or more indicating a significant risk of malnutrition, necessitating nutritional intervention.
